Maybe Neal Jones or others involved with the Fort Boise Garrison can pinpoint a little more info for me on this old blanket bag or haversack and where or when it might have been used. On the flap, a bit faded, it says Co. M., 2D. IDAHO, U.S. The shoulder strap is Rock Island Arsenal. The bag was identified as a M1898 and that seems reasonable based upon my research but second opinions always appreciated. I've had it a couple years or so. These were the pics that were with it at the time of purchase. I can probably get some better ones if need be.
