Do a search for Steunenberg to find where the governor is referenced in the book. This confirms that he was at the Centennial Celebration in Washington, DC on December 12, 1900. On pages 183-185 you will see information and a picture of the medal that was given to the governors.
Medal itself is quite heavy and in good shape. Scans are a little fuzzy. The black covering on the case as you can see is worn but the gold lettering with the Governors name is quite strong. The case has a working clasp and some wear to the inside material covering around the back hinge. Hinge is intact and working.
