College of Idaho Football Team circa 1908

Since I am on the topic of the COI (see previous post), might as well move this photo up from the unarchived bottom section of the blog that I am slowly trying to clear out.

Another early photo of the College of Idaho 1908 State Champions Football Team that I found and purchased. The student second from left on the middle row is James Boone, son of college president Dr. William Judson Boone. One of James' touchdown end runs stood as a record for many years. James went on to a career in law, including the presentation of a case before the US Supreme Court. I need to see if Jan can identify some of the other players. Anyone else know any of these players/coaches? This pic is now the property of the COI Archives.

A little of my football history.
Not quite 1908 but sometimes it seems like it!

John, #74, lineman - Varsity Football circa 1969. Thousand Oaks High School Lancers, Thousand Oaks, CA.

I still have my almost pristine Letterman's jacket stored away. Can't seem to get it buttoned anymore. Guess it has shrunk.

The player in the middle row, far left (next to James Boone) is my great-grandfather James D. Ruark Sr. (1888-1923). I remember seeing this photo as a young boy and don't know where our family copy is today so it is nice to see this again. Thank you for posting.
