This blog contains history, photos, etc. related to Idaho from the late 1800's/early 1900's. My mother, Brenda Steunenberg Richards, was born in ID. Much of it pertains to the assassination of my great grandfather, Gov. Frank Steunenberg, the trial of Bill Haywood & grew out of the 100 year commemorations of those events. Along the way I toss in a bit of the Wild West, old guns, radios, military, etc. Your comments are welcomed. If using my images, please just ASK. Thank you.

The 1940 Census is coming April 2nd.
A whole new decade (1930's) of information is about to become available. Coming to a computer near you on April 2nd.
I finally gave up the other day. It will be awhile before all the name indexing is done by Ancestry and others. My wife Cindy is working on some of it for Ancestry.com (earns some kind of brownie points or freebies for doing it). They are given five or so states at a time to pick from. She must have been doing some Pennsylvania as I got home today and see the Richards' 1940 entries with my grandparents on my father’s side. I don’t have the patience to sit there entering all the names and data but that is how it gets done. Of course Cindy works at the library and is use to handling a lot of information. I just want it to be there when I go looking for it!

So slowwww. Too many milions of us on there at the moment.
A day later and it's still slow as molasses. And Ancestry.com doesn't have what I want loaded yet.
Did you find some Steunenbergs?
